Conceptually dark and unflinchingly hopeful, the world illuminated in the new album, Vivid Tales of Love & Catastrophe, is the creation of experienced musician Doli Stepniewski. Starring here as alter ego, DareDevilDale, Doli single-handedly weaves together a collection of progressive human experience, as stirring as it is catchy. 

 

Steered by Doli’s one-man-band approach to performance and production, DareDevilDale comes to life as our champion through the relatable, everyday hero stories of the album’s rich characters:

 

“Close your eyes and open up your mind... Can you believe what you’ll be when you’re ready?” he sings in the album’s sunshiny opening track, “Next Big Thing.”  And from a deliciously violent overthrow of convention in “Big Bang,” to addiction and combative relationships in the driving, “Friction,” listeners are compelled to hold on through the rollicking ups-and-downs of the album’s ten tracks of unapologetically sensational reality.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

 

Explosively expatriated from the farmlands of Ohio, singer-songwriter Doli Stepniewski breathes mischievous spirit into creative alter ego, DareDevilDale. Known for effusive hooks and anthemic power-pop melodies, he creates vivid tales of love and catastrophe... fit for the pages of a graphic novel. Each song pulls equally from Stepniewski’s own experiences as both an accomplished touring musician (Owsley, Amy Grant, Under The Big Top) and a successful tech entrepreneur. The result is an accessible yet divergent sound delivered with a wink and nod to musical superheroes Stewart Copeland, Gordon Sumner, Andy Summers, Stuart Adamson and John Taylor.

 

When not criss-crossing the boundaries of the American soundscape as DareDevilDale, Stepniewski is an animator and rock & roll developer in Nashville, Tennessee where he lives with his wife and three sons.

Anjali, raised in New Delhi till the age of 10, draws on her extensive training in classical piano, Indian Hindustani classical vocal training, and occasional moonlighting as a jazz pianist to create emotional and haunting melodies. Learning piano through the British school of music since the age of 4, Anjali’s early musical foundation was later strengthened by the contrast of her Indian vocal training, enabling her to begin writing her own songs and communicating in a way words alone never can.

After performing in venues throughout Chicago and Los Angeles, Anjali began a career as an engineer, which enabled her to embrace her greatest gift to date – motherhood. She recently seized the opportunity to create a full length album of songs inspired by her experiences as a wife and mother. Her songs are sonically captivating, blending rhythms and music from east and west. Her lyrics mirror the challenges, struggles and joys we all face in our lifetime, and combine with her powerful, angelic voice to yield a soulful and honest product.
