After gaining notoriety in her hometown other opportunities were presented. Though she was known for her gritty, hard-hitting rhymes, her style, femininity and sex appeal sparked several modeling opportunities including photo shoots with Willie ESCO, Black Men’s Magazine, Hype Hair Magazine, and Karl Kani.

Ivy Shades was also known for wearing crazy eye wear at her shows which quickly caught on as a part of her image. Channeling her business background, she decided to branch off and create her own designer eye wear brand. She began designing for her entourage “Female Money Team.”

 After the release of her third successful mix tape “I Co-sign Myself” in 2014 Ivy Shades started her own independent Record Label, FMT Music. Her debut studio album “Madam Chronicles” (2013) has everybody asking “Who is this Chick.” Although she is wildly popular and highly regarded amongst her male peers, even in her early years, Ivy Shades has always had a huge female entourage which advanced her movement and gained her a loyal fan base.

She is also the only female MC to have a record featuring the late Pimp C from the legendary hip-hop group, UGK. Her most recent performance was at Tre Day, 2014 in Houston where she debuted “Eye wear” from her new project. The first single, “Lap Dance” already has the streets buzzing.

In a recent interview Ivy Shades was asked to describe herself in one word.
